KUHNER: Impeach the president? The 'Slaughter Solution' would violate the Constitution

(Using the Slaughter Rule) They would guarantee that any bill signed by Mr. Obama is illegitimate, illegal and blatantly unconstitutional. KUHNER: Impeach the president?

The 'Slaughter Solution' would violate the Constitution     Washington Times   by Jeffrey Kuhner

Excerpt:

Yet his primary goal has always been to gobble up the health care system. The most troubling aspect of the Obamacare debate, however, is not the measure's sweeping and radical aims - the transformation of one-sixth of the U.S. economy, crippling tax increases, higher premiums, state-sanctioned rationing, longer waiting lines, the erosion of the quality of medical care and the creation of a huge, permanent administrative bureaucracy. Rather, the most alarming aspect is the lengths to which the Democrats are willing to go to achieve their progressive, anti-capitalist agenda.

Obamacare is opposed by nearly two-thirds of the public, more than 60 percent of independents and almost all Republicans and conservatives. It has badly fractured the country, dangerously polarizing it along ideological and racial lines. Even a majority of Democrats in the House are deeply reluctant to support it.

Numerous states - from Idaho to Virginia to Texas - have said they will sue the federal government should Obamacare become law. They will declare themselves exempt from its provisions, tying up the legislation in the courts for years to come.

Mr. Obama is willing to devour his presidency, his party's congressional majority and - most disturbing - our democratic institutional safeguards to enact it. He is a reckless ideologue who is willing to sacrifice the country's stability in pursuit of a socialist utopia.

The Slaughter Solution is a poisoned chalice. By drinking from it, the Democrats would not only commit political suicide. They would guarantee that any bill signed by Mr. Obama is illegitimate, illegal and blatantly unconstitutional. It would be worse than a strategic blunder; it would be a crime - a moral crime against the American people and a direct abrogation of the Constitution and our very democracy.

It would open Mr. Obama, as well as key congressional leaders such as Mrs. Pelosi, to impeachment. The Slaughter Solution would replace the rule of law with arbitrary one-party rule. It violates the entire basis of our constitutional government - meeting the threshold of "high crimes and misdemeanors." If it's enacted, Republicans should campaign for the November elections not only on repealing Obamacare, but on removing Mr. Obama and his gang of leftist thugs from office.

It is time Americans drew a line in the sand. Mr. Obama crosses it at his peril.

Bachmann Rips Media for Not Covering Deem and Pass

"Where is the mainstream media in all of this not telling this story? This is a compelling story - that the Speaker of the House would even consider having us pass a bill that no one votes on?"  Bachmann said.

According to Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., they have. She had some harsh words for the fourth estate on conservative talker Sean Hannity's March 16 radio show. (h/t Kevin Eder)

According to Bachmann, this is such an egregious maneuver by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, to force through health care reform using the Slaughter Rule, as known as deem and pass, that it warrants her impeachment from the post.

"That should laugh her out of the House and there should be people that are calling for impeachment off of something like this," Bachmann continued. "That's how bad this is. I mean, trust me - Dennis Hastert could have never gotten away with this. President Bush never could have gotten away with it."

Washington Post has had several articles on Pelosi's attempt to destroy democracy. One of them garnered more than 5000 comments.

There's a lot more interest in this "process" than the Democrats imagined. One analyst who did a running analysis said 90% of the comments were anti-deem and pass, and those consisted of folks who had a wide variety of political understandings.

Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.
At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!

FreedomWorks is calling everyone that is able to Washington, DC on March 16th, 2010 for one more push against Obamacare. We will meet at the Cannon building at 9am and speak with as many representatives as possible, encouraging them to vote NO on this version of health care reform. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFZUxDudxSA

*In a desperate bid to ram a government takeover of America's health care system through Congress, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid have turned to a parliamentary trick known as "reconciliation" that will allow them to ignore all dissenting voices and pass, against bi-partisan opposition, their bill with only 50 Democrat votes instead of the traditional 60.

The reconciliation process was created in 1974 so that Congress could move quickly on budget matters, but the Left wants to use it to pass their big government agenda -- starting with ObamaCare." http://www.freedomworks.org/landing/noreconciliation/index.php

MoveOn Threatens to Push Primary Opponents to Dems Voting Against Health Plan

Moveon.org has reportedly raised $3,578,117 in contributions to fund primary challenges against 'any Democratic senator who blocks an up-or-down vote on health care reform with a public option,' according to an e-mail sent to group members on Thursday.

A civil war is threatening to erupt within the Democratic Party as liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org looks to punish moderate Democrats opposed to the sweeping health care overhaul proposed by party leaders.

MoveOn has reportedly raised more than $3.5 million  in contributions to fund primary challenges against "any Democratic senator who blocks an up-or-down vote on health care reform with a public option," according to an e-mail sent to group members on Thursday.

The e-mail warned that any Democratic House member who joins Republicans to filibuster the health care reform measure will "face an enormous backlash from the grassroots."

The group also highlights a letter from Democracy for America, the nation's largest progressive political action founded by former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, which urges Senate Democrats to strip committee chairmanship from "any Democrat who filibusters health care."

MoveOn.org, which has...   Excerpted. More at: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/06/liberal-activist-groups-threatens-democrats-opposed-government-run-option/

H.R. 3962 - Affordable Health Care for America Act
You can download it here:

Some Quickies

starting on p. 16
Upon passage of the bill, there will immediately be set up a High -Risk pool of people to give them the public option of health care coverage. on p. 18 line 14 - if you meet the requirements to be in this high risk pool which is described above...such as haven’t had health care coverage for the last 6 months....

Then you CANNOT be considered for coverage under an employment based health plan at all!!!

So if you actually get a job, you can’t get enrolled into their plan you are stuck with the governement plan!!

p.25 top of p.26 of the bill
If the $5 billion runs out that they have alloted then the Sec. of Health has the right to reduce benefits, increase premiums and establish waiting lists.

Also
p.297 the section heading is taxes on individuals without appropriate health care coverage.
right...
look on p. 299
2) Non-resident aliens..this subsection will not apply to them.

If they don’t have purchase appropriate health care coverage yet, they get to use it...they will NOT be taxed like the rest of us if we don’t comply!

It appears on P. 299 top p. 300 that we might be saved if we just say that we are religious thus not having to pay the tax

2,000 Pages of Mandates, Taxes, and Bureaucracy
Posted by: Michele Bachmann at 12:05 PM  Excerpt
"This morning, House Democrats held a press conference to unveil their health care reform bill, which they claim will expand coverage for all and decrease costs. Sounds good, but once you peel away the “feel good” rhetoric, there’s nothing to be excited about."
"H.R. 3962 - Affordable Health Care for America Act includes a job-killing employer mandate, an individual mandate that requires Washington bureaucrats to define what kind of coverage is acceptable, burdensome tax increases, Medicare cuts, and a huge expansion of Medicaid that will break already strained state budgets.

You see, the Democrats are playing a game of bait and switch when they talk about the costs of this legislation. For instance, they say that costs will be kept under the arbitrary $900 billion cap that President Obama has requested. Well, they’ll stay under the cap simply by expanding Medicaid eligibility. In other words, they’ll be shifting the costs off one set of taxpayer-funded books to another set of taxpayer-funded books.  And, don’t forget: we just had to bail out those states in large part because their Medicaid budgets were bleeding them dry!"

ABC Comes Up Empty-handed in Manufactured Protest Investigation

ABC Investigates, Reports Truth on Town Halls
Posted by: Meredith Jessup at 11:53 AM http://townhall.com/blog/   Excerpted
As we've been reporting, heated health care town hall meetings have been somewhat unwelcoming for Members of Congress returning home for the August recess.  Speaker Nancy Pelosi has complained they are full of Nazi symbolism; and Senator Barbara Boxer is worried about how many "well-dressed" people are showing up.  The White House and the Democratic National Committee are characterizing American citizens attending town hall meetings as angry "mobs."  True to form, most of the mainstream media didn't hesitate to run these rumors and false accusations as headlines

However, ABC has attempted to try something different--actually investigating the story!  ABC's Steven Portnoy attended a local town hall meeting in eastern Maryland to try and root out the clandestine operatives sent by evil insurance companies, and the supposed organized groups of Republicans who--as the DNC claims--are apparently just bitter about losing the 2008 election.  Unfortunately, undoubtedly much to the chagrin of the liberal left, Portnoy came up empty-handed.  In fact, he reports:
There were no lobbyist-funded buses in the parking lot of Mardela Middle and High School on Tuesday evening, and the hundreds of Eastern Maryland residents who packed the school’s auditorium loudly refuted the notion that their anger over the Democrats’ health care reform plans is “manufactured.”

“I went to school in this school,” a man named Bob told me.  “I don't see anyone in this room that isn't from Mardela Springs right now.”

“We’ve been quiet too long,” said a woman named Joan... More at link in title and http://townhall.com/blog/

House Orders Up Three Elite Jets. Pelosi Should Walk The Talk Back To SF

"the House approved nearly $200 million for the Air Force to buy three elite Gulfstream jets for ferrying top government officials and Members of Congress. "

House Orders Up Three Elite Jets

Last year, lawmakers excoriated the CEOs of the Big Three automakers for traveling to Washington, D.C., by private jet to attend a hearing about a possible bailout of their companies.
But apparently Congress is not philosophically averse to private air travel: At the end of July, the House approved nearly $200 million for the Air Force to buy three elite Gulfstream jets for ferrying top government officials and Members of Congress.

The Air Force had asked for one Gulfstream 550 jet (price tag: about $65 million) as part of an ongoing upgrade of its passenger air service.

But the House Appropriations Committee, at its own initiative, added to the 2010 Defense appropriations bill another $132 million for two more airplanes and specified that they be assigned to the D.C.-area units that carry Members of Congress, military brass and top government officials.

Because the Appropriations Committee viewed the additional aircraft as an expansion of an existing Defense Department program, it did not treat the money for two more planes as an earmark, and the legislation does not disclose which Member had requested the additional money.

An Appropriations Committee staffer said the military was already planning to replace its passenger fleet, and the committee “looked at the request and decided they should speed up the replacement.”

The Gulfstream G550 is a luxury business jet, which the company advertises as featuring long-range flight capacity that “easily links Washington, D.C., with Dubai, London with Singapore and Tokyo with Paris.” The company’s promotional materials say, “The cabin aboard the G550 combines productivity with exceptional comfort. It features up to four distinct living areas, three temperature zones, a choice of 12 floor plan configurations with seating for up to 18 passengers.”

The version Gulfstream sells to the military is reconfigured for the government with modest accommodations, not the luxury version sold to private customers, said a source familiar with the planes.

Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.) had submitted a request to the Appropriations Committee for a $70 million earmark for one airplane on behalf of Georgia-based Gulfstream, and Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) lists the airplane as one of the earmarks that he was asked to request, though his office said he never made the request to the Appropriations Committee.

“The committee saw fit to fund it at that level” without Kingston’s involvement, his spokesman said.

Bishop’s office did not return several calls requesting comment for this story.

Air Force spokesman Vincent King told Roll Call: “This line item provides funding to purchase C-37 aircraft. The C-37 is the military variant of the commercial Gulfstream 550 executive jet. C-37s provide executive airlift for senior U.S. government officials including Congress and combatant commanders.”

The language of the appropriations bill specifies that of the three aircraft, the Air Force will provide “one aircraft each for the 201st Airlift Squadron and the 89th Airlift Wing.” Both are based out of Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.    More of lengthy Roll Call article at: http://www.rollcall.com/media/37552-1.html

Economists slam Barack Obama's stimulus package, Pelosi Writes Panic Memo

"That memo shows that her bunched up panties have more wrinkles than her upper lip. (sorry for the visuals!)"
Comment #2 about "Is Pelosi Panicking? Leaked Memo Lashes Out at Republicans" posted by laweeks at: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=30473&page=2#c1
This is a memo from Speaker Nancy Pelosi's communications director, Brendan Daley, to Democratic members and staff sent after the stimulus vote yesterday. Pelosi is apparently panicked at Republicans’ success in uniting against her hyperpartisan actions in shutting them out of the formulation of the stimulus bill and in peeling nearly a dozen Dems off to vote in opposition.

Here is the full text of the memo leaked to HUMAN EVENTS this morning. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=30473&page=2#c1

Economists slam Barack Obama's stimulus package

The line from Barack Obama and Joe Biden is that all economists agree with a stimulus package to expand government spending. So they won't have been happy to see a full page advertisement in (January 28's) New York Times disagreeing, signed by around 200 academic economists, including three Nobel prize-winners.

(T)he economists who signed the advert, funded by the Cato Institute in Washington DC, say that: "we the undersigned do not believe that more government spending is a way to improve economic performance. More government spending by Hoover and Roosevelt did not pull the United States economy out of the Great Depression in the 1930s. More government spending did not solve Japan's "lost decade" in the 1990s."

ALERT:Is November 4, more a coup d’etat than it is a general election?

"Minister Louis Farrakhan claiming a “new beginning for the Nation of Islam” and Barack Hussein vowing to “change the world”, it certainly seems more coup d’etat than presidential election. "

imageIs November 4, 2008 more a coup d’etat than it is a general election?

Is Election ’08 a mere formality?

With ACORN under investigation for registering bogus voters in at least 15 states; with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi--who leads a Congress even more unpopular than a fast-fading- from-the-scene George W. Bush--claiming “It’s 100% that Barack’s gonna win”, with Minister Louis Farrakhan claiming a “new beginning for the Nation of Islam” and Barack Hussein vowing to “change the world”, it certainly seems more coup d’etat than presidential election.

If it weren’t for the fact that the future of the United States of America is at stake; that a group of rich and powerful, elitist malcontents such as George Soros and Kyoto godfather Canadian Maurice Strong have an agenda to usher in a new era of Socialism for the USA, Obama for all of his media and Hollywood hype, would be something of a joke.

Wake up America!

Editor’s Note: Former CIA operative David Dastych reminds us that the power elite in New York began to reform the financial market in May, 2007, and did so to retain the coveted ideal of New York City as a world financial centre.  “Did they provoke the financial crisis to attain their goals?” he asks.  “Now it seems they need the election of Senator Barack Obama as President of the U.S. to ensure political support for their far-reaching plans.  The “bailout” plan was ordered in New York city in May, 2007.”

"I mean you can’t just make stuff up. You can’t just recreate yourself. You can’t just reinvent yourself. The American people aren’t stupid.” - Barack Obama, Flint, Michigan September 8, 2008

I am convinced that Obama with his Marxist and Islamic friends planned Obama’s Presidency many years ago, and that the game plan was something like this:

"Pelosi Used Political Donations to Pay Husband's Firm" Fox News

"The Washington Times is reporting that the California Democrat's husband, Paul F. Pelosi, owns Financial Leasing Services Inc., which has received $99,000 in rent, utilities and accounting fees from the speaker's "PAC to the Future" over the PAC's nine-year history."

House Speaker Pelosi Used Political Donations to Pay Husband's Firm

WASHINGTON —

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi paid her husband's real estate and investment firm nearly $100,000 from her political action committee over the past decade, a practice that she voted to ban last year and that her party condemned as part of the "culture of corruption" when Republicans did it.

The Washington Times is reporting that the California Democrat's husband, Paul F. Pelosi, owns Financial Leasing Services Inc., which has received $99,000 in rent, utilities and accounting fees from the speaker's "PAC to the Future" over the PAC's nine-year history.

Last year, Pelosi supported a bill that would have banned members of Congress from putting spouses on their campaign staffs. The bill banned not only direct payments by congressional campaign committees and PACs to spouses for services including consulting and furndraising, but also "indirect compensation," such as payments to companies that employ spouses.

The bill passed the House in a voice vote but died in a Senate committee.

Last week, Pelosi's office defended the payments, saying they were legal because she is compensating her husband at fair market value for the work his firm has performed for the PAC.

Ethical watchdogs called Pelosi's arrangement "problematic."

This National Crisis Defines Everyone In The Country

"Free-market Republican House members gave high-minded speeches and then panicked in the face of populist outrage just when the country needed their calm, hand-in-glove with Democratic House ideologues — the one claiming we are getting socialism, the other robber-baron capitalism. They are as  captive to public outrage over the bailout now as they soon will be to the  next phase of outrage over shattered retirement accounts. A Defining Moment   [Victor Davis Hanson]  Excerpt from: National Review Online at: http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NWVkNmRkMjU0YTlhYmI0MjEyYTk3NGQ0ZmI2MGY0ZjU=

The stage is set for someone to play Washington, Lincoln, or Churchill. An entire generation of leadership is failing, as the world watches aghast.

Greedy Wall Street hot shots are worse than discredited.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi at the hour of national crisis proved why she may well be the worst House Speaker in the history of the Congress.

The more Sen. Dodd and Rep. Frank shout and demagogue in front of the cameras, the more desperate we know they are to talk their way out of their own past reckless and unprincipled conduct.

Lame duck President Bush is spent, tired and knows only that he will blamed for something he tried to prevent.

Sec. Paulson thought he could bark out orders at Treasury and expect underlings to snap to attention as they did once for him as Goldman Sachs. And when they didn't, in vain he went to one knee — arrogance to fawning in a matter of hours.

The utterly corrupt Left-wing members of the House who green-lighted the thievery at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae that started the panic will be lucky if they are not targets of a special prosecutor.

Free-market Republican House members gave high-minded speeches and then panicked in the face of populist outrage just when the country needed their calm, hand-in-glove with Democratic House ideologues — the one claiming we are getting socialism, the other robber-baron capitalism. They are as  captive to public outrage over the bailout now as they soon will be to the  next phase of outrage over shattered retirement accounts.

Barack Obama is again voting present, clueless while trying to act cool, waiting for calls, and issuing hourly contradictory statements adjusted to perceived CNN punditry and Drudge headlines...      [Can John McCain seize the moment and transcend the campaign?]  Excerpted from:  The National Review Online at:

"...So The Conservative Republicans Can Take (Share?) The Rap!

There's been a lot of theater, but what's really going on is that Ms. Pelosi is trying to make sure that any bailout only passes with conservative Republicans and John McCain fully on board to share the rap.

The Bailout Passion Play

There will be blood – and a vote.

"It's not me blowing this up, it's the Republicans." So said Nancy Pelosi this week to Hank Paulson, who was reportedly on bended knee soliciting for his bailout plan.

There's been a lot of theater, but what's really going on is that Ms. Pelosi is trying to make sure that any bailout only passes with conservative Republicans and John McCain fully on board to share the rap. But Democrats have all the votes they need to pass the Paulson plan. If Ms. Pelosi and the White House really believe the financial markets will fall apart Monday morning without a bill, they can deliver one -- as President Bush hinted in his own nonpanicked remarks Friday morning.

Straight from a meeting with John McCain on Thursday, one of the central villains in Ms. Pelosi's melodrama, Rep. Eric Cantor, gave us an update. Mr. Cantor, a rising GOP star from Virginia, also happens to be his party's chief deputy House whip responsible for rounding up votes on key pieces of legislation. Though Democrats control the House, he explains, conservative Republicans for the moment are able to drive policy on this issue because "the Speaker has pledged that there will be no bill without a majority of Republican support."

That has allowed House GOP conservatives, though a minority of a minority, to put some brakes on a runaway train and allow some due deliberation. With their constituents burning up congressional switchboards to complain about the deal and conservatives aghast at a massive open-ended government intervention in the economy, Mr. Cantor has been hammering out a "statement of principles" with Reps. Paul Ryan and Jeb Hensarling. Those principles are the nucleus of a plan to modify or replace Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's $700 billion proposal to unfreeze credit markets by buying up distressed financial assets.

But -- deep breath here -- in the end, "there is no way there isn't a vote" on the bailout, says Mr. Cantor.

As for Mr. McCain, accused by Democrats and the media of disrupting the talks to help his presidential campaign and play up his role as bipartisan savior, Mr. Cantor says having Mr. McCain on Capitol Hill "signaled the severity" of the crisis and can help produce a compromise.

Essentially, the alternative being drawn up by Messrs. Cantor, Ryan and Hensarling aims to free up private capital to buy distressed securities by pushing through a series of tax and regulatory reforms, and by creating government insurance for mortgage-backed securities that are now burning holes in financial firms' balance sheets. Washington has more experience running guarantee programs, they note, than running a hedge fund (the Paulson plan). Their proposal would avoid committing hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to the discretion of the Treasury Department to "save" the financial system. And it doesn't turn the U.S. government into a giant (and conflicted) owner of U.S. financial institutions.

Mr. Cantor isn't willing to name names yet, but he says even some Democratic members are attracted to a scaled-back plan that wouldn't stick a giant bill on "taxpayers, who did nothing wrong here."  For more of this excerpted article go to The Wall Street Journal at: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122257181932583099.html?mod=googlenews_wsj
