Breitbart has uncovered then Senator Obama claiming while discussing that the Military Commissions Act of 2006 that 9-11 mastermind KSM will get a MILITARY trial, not a CIVIL trial .
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is considered to be the person chiefly responsible for planning and controlling Al Qaeda's international terrorism network, including the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. He is believed to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of major past, present and future Al Qaeda operations, and is thought to be the military commander of Al Qaeda's operation. Mohammed is thought to have been born in 1965, in Kuwait, and studied in the United States. Since his parents were from Pakistan, in the late 1980's Mohammed made his way to Peshawar, in northwest Pakistan, where he and his brothers became a part of a small circle which included terrorist Osama Bin Laden. He became a key recruiter and coordinator for Bin Laden, travelling the globe to entice others to join their organization, and is the mastermind behind several terrorist attacks on US targets around the globe.
He was captured by Pakistani Intelligence operatives in 2003, and has been in US custody since. He was charged with the deaths of hundreds of Americans, including that of reporter
Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and beheaded while on assignment in Pakistan.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (also Muhammad or Mohammad) is known as the member of the al-Qaeda Council who plotted the attacks of 11 September 2001 on the United States. His personal background is murky, but it is generally agreed he was born in 1964 or 1965, in the Baluchistan region of Pakistan, and that he grew up in Kuwait. He studied in the United States, briefly at Chowan College in North Carolina before graduating in 1986 from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a degree in engineering. Within a few short years he was in Pakistan and part of the Afghan mujahideen. In the late '80s he joined Osama Bin Laden, and by the late 1990s he was the al-Qaeda media director under Ayman al-Zawahiri. Mohammed's nephew, Ramzi Yousef, was one of the men behind the 1993 bomb attack on the World Trade Center, and Mohammed was suspected of being connected. Mohammed then became more widely known as the man behind a failed 1995 plot to blow up American airliners (known as Operation Bojinka), as well as a suspect in several other international operations. After the attacks of 9/11, Mohammed was said to have been the man who coordinated the plan. The U.S. declared him as big a target as Bin Laden and offered a reward of up to $25 million for his capture. It was announced in March of 2003 that he had been captured in Pakistan; the news was accompanied by a photo of him in an ill-fitting white tee-shirt, black mustache and bad hair. Reports had Mohammed, sometimes referred to as KSM, held by the U.S. at undisclosed locations until 2006, when it was said he was a detainee at the prisoner facility at Guantanamo Bay. In March of 2007 the U.S. released a transcript from a military tribunal in which Mohammed, while denying that he ever said he was al-Qaeda's military commander, takes credit for planning the 9/11 attacks and about thirty other operations, including the 2002 murder of journalist Daniel Pearl and assassination plots against U.S. president Bill Clinton and Pope John Paul II.

Obama Administration's Atrocious Decision
Yesterday at 1:39pm
Horrible decision, absolutely horrible. It is devastating for so many of us to hear that the Obama Administration decided that the 9/11 terrorist mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, will be given a criminal trial in New York. This is an atrocious decision.
Mohammed and his terrorist co-conspirators are responsible for the deaths of more than 3,000 Americans. Thousands of American families have suffered through the loss of loved ones because of the disgusting attacks launched against the United States, and now this trial venue adds insult to injury, in addition to compromising our efforts in the War on Terror. Heaven forbid our allies see this decision as a reason to become less likely to support our efforts in the future.
Criminal defense attorneys will now enter into delaying tactics and other methods in the hope of securing some kind of win for their “clients.” The trial will afford Mohammed the opportunity to grandstand and make use of his time in front of the world media to rally his disgusting terrorist cohorts. It will also be an insult to the victims of 9/11, as Mohammed will no doubt use the opportunity to spew his hateful rhetoric in the same neighborhood in which he ruthlessly cut down the lives of so many Americans.
It is crucially important that Americans be made aware that the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks may walk away from this trial without receiving just punishment because of a “hung jury” or from any variety of court room technicalities. If we are stuck with this terrible Obama Administration decision, I, like most Americans, hope that Mohammed and his co-conspirators are convicted. Hang ‘em high.
I wholeheartedly support the survivors and the families of the victims in their appeal to the president regarding this matter. You can read more about it here.
