More cracks have appeared in the official story of Barack Obama's family life,
with the revelation in school documentation from the University of Washington that Ann Dunham most likely left her husband, Barack Sr., within weeks of the baby's birth.
The official story as presented in his autobiography, "Dreams from My Father," and in various
accounts in newspapers and websites supporting Obama conflicts with the results of a careful analysis of the documentary evidence available.
For example, the official story claims Dunham relocated to Seattle late in 1962, but documentary evidence establishes she left Hawaii when she moved to Seattle in August or September 1961, only a few weeks after the birth of Barack Obama Jr.
Likewise, the official story describes how Dunham and Obama Sr. lived as man-and-wife in Hawaii until he left for Harvard to begin the fall term in September 1962. But the documents establish Dunham abandoned Obama Sr. when she left to begin school at the University of Washington in Seattle for the fall term of 1961, which began in September of that year.
The Obama long-form original birth certificate continues to be hidden from the public by Obama despite a multitude of requests to make the document public.
But here are a number of critical dates documenting the birth of Barack Obama Jr. from available public records
.
- Ann Dunham was born Nov. 29, 1942, according to her original Social Security Card. This would have made her 18 years old at the time Barack Obama Jr. was born.
- Barack Obama Jr. was born Aug. 4, 1961; this would put his date of conception at the earliest on or around Nov. 4, 1960, assuming there was a full nine months of pregnancy.
- Records provided to WND by Stuart Lau, university registrar in the Office of Admissions and Records at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, document that Ann Dunham's first day of instruction at the university was Sept. 26, 1960, less than six weeks before the earliest date Barack Obama, Jr. could have been conceived.
- Ann Dunham and Barack H. Obama, Sr.'s divorce decree states they were married Feb. 2, 1961, in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. This would mean Obama's parents were married approximately three months after Barack Obama, Jr. was conceived, if the baby went full-term.
- Instead of staying in Hawaii with her husband and new baby, Ann Dunham began classes at the University of Washington in Seattle in September 1961 for the autumn semester, less than two months after Obama was born. WND confirmed this date with Madolyne Lawson of the Office of Public Records at the University of Washington.

- Ann Dunham took up residence in Seattle at 516 13th Ave. E., according to the 1961 Seattle Polk directory.
This residence was torn down in 1985 and is now replaced by twin Capital Park residential towers; the Seattle Polk Directory listing is for a "Mrs. Anna Obama," a variant of her name that most researchers have considered to be Ann Dunham.

- At most, Barack Obama Sr. and Ann Dunham lived together for approximately eight months, from Feb. 2, 1961, the date of their marriage, until September 1961 when Ann Dunham began her studies at the University of Washington. But there is nothing on the public record to suggest Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. ever lived together again as man and wife.
- There is nothing on the public record to suggest that Ann Dunham's mother, Madelyn Dunham, accompanied her daughter to Seattle in September 1961, even though she was 18 years old and responsible for a baby who was less than two months old.
- There is no evidence on the public record that Obama Sr. ever joined his wife in Seattle. Instead, the public evidence is that Obama Sr. remained in Hawaii, while his wife and infant son established their residence in Seattle.
- Obama Sr. began studies at Harvard University in September 1962, which means Dunham did not return to live in Hawaii until after Obama Sr. had left the islands, never to return to Hawaii again as a resident.
- The same records show Dunham did not resume her studies at the University of Hawaii until April 1963 for the spring semester, when Barack Obama was approximately one year and five months old.
Dunham and Obama Sr. were divorced Jan. 20, 1964.

In the 1961-1962 Polk Directory, a commercial index of people and businesses in Seattle, there is a listing for a student named "Anna Obama," a woman who just might have been our next president's mother.
According to a Seattle Times article published last year, Barack Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, twice lived in the Emerald City. First in her youth, as a student at Mercer Island High School. Then later as a single mother, when she enrolled for a spring semester at the University of Washington. We know she lived for a short time in an apartment on Capitol Hill by 1962 -- but not much has been published about where.
Enter the Polk Directory. Assuming the woman listed there really was Obama's mother, it would appear that she -- and quite possibly her infant son -- lived in a building then located at 516 13th Ave. E.

One detail puts that assumption in doubt. Obama's mother's name was Stanley Ann Dunham -- Stanley Ann Obama after she married Obama's father. Yet the index lists an "Anna." It is possible this was another woman, archival experts said. But typos were not unheard of in the Polk directories, archival experts told me. Besides, the Polk Directory is not a legal document; those listed did not have to give their official name.
What's more: No other Obamas appear in the 1961-1962 directory, and a peek through the surrounding 1960 and 1963 editions of the index turn up no one by that name. That suggests that the appearance of "Anna Obama" in Seattle, whoever she was, at least fits the biography of Stanley Ann Dunham.
"I think that it's a lead that's worth following," said Mike Saunders, regional archivist at the Puget Sound Branch of the Washington State Archives. "But it should be verified with the family."
The Polk Directory is available to the public in the Seattle Room of the Seattle Public Library. But only two inquiries about this listing have been made to the Puget Sound archives, which holds the 1937 photo of the building listed as Anna Obama's address. One was mine.
P.S. -- Credit for this find should go first to Capitol Hill resident Charlette LeFevre, who helps run Seattle's Museum of the Mysteries on Broadway. A couple weeks ago, LeFevre posted on a Capitol Hill discussion board suggesting she might track down this mysterious Capitol Hill residence. Then, on Jan. 9, she published her discovery of the Polk Directory listing -- plus the 1937 photo of the building where Obama reportedly lived -- in a Jan. 9 article in the Capitol Hill Times.
Obama's mother, whose parents Madelyn and Stanley Dunham had moved here from Kansas a decade earlier, left Mercer Island in 1960. But she returned to live in Seattle around 1962, after Barack was born in August 1961, leaving her husband, Kenya-born Barack Sr., and his newborn namesake in Hawaii. Images of two 1961 Hawaii birth certificates similar to the one President Obama purportedly has on file have now been unveiled.
The Honolulu Advertiser published photostats of the original long-form birth certificates of twin daughters born to Eleanor Nordyke at Kapi'olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital Aug. 5, 1961, one day after Obama was supposedly born at the same facility.
The Nordykes' certificates include information missing from the short-form document for Obama published online, including the name of the hospital, the name of the attending physician, name and address of the parents, the race of the parents and the race of the baby.
As WND reported yesterday, Hawaii's director of health responded to the growing controversy over the White House's refusal to release Obama's original long-form birth certificate by issuing a statement about the document in apparent contravention of Hawaiian law.

Here is an actual Hawaiian birth certificate from 1963 (the same era as Obama's birth), which while redacted includes detailed information documenting a birth, including the name of the birth hospital and the attending physician. Beneath it is the short-form "Certification of Live Birth" offered by President Obama as proof of his Hawaiian birth. It is possible to have been born outside of Hawaii and still obtain the latter form, but not the former:

Nordykes The birth announcement was "discovered" on July 22, 2008, ten days from the date of the death of the long-time owner of the property at 6085 Kalanianaole Highway, one Mrs. Lefforge.twins
The announcement was located in the Honolulu public library microfilm (microfiche) of a notice placed in the Sunday Advertiser Aug. 13, 1961. The announcement in the "Births, Marriages, Death" section read: "Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama, 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy., son, Aug. 4."
Now, look at the address on Obama's birth announcement? According to the birth announcement, Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama, (Sr.) resided at 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy. There should be other links that connect their stay at that address. There is no documentation or corroborating evidence that they ever lived at that address or were associated with that home.
The owners of the residence located at 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy, the alleged address of Obama’s parents when he was born, was Orland S. and Thelma S. (Young) Lefforge, both of whom are deceased.
In 1961 the Stanley and Madelyn Dunham lived on Kamehameha Avenue. Obama Sr. lived on 11th Avenue. The Lefforge family, including their 3 children under the age of seven were residing at the luxury home listed on Obama’s birth announcement -- 6085 Kalanianaole Highway.
Beatrice Arakaki affirmed she was a neighbor of the address listed. She has lived at her current residence of 6075 Kalanianaole Highway from before 1961 to the present. Mrs. Arakaki said that Obama, his 'mama,' and his 'papa' never lived there. Arakaki told investigators that she had no recollection of Obama being born or of the family living next door having a black child born to a white mother.
Dr. Robert Allan Nordyke joined the Straub Clinic, located at 7192 Kalanianaole Highway Honolulu, HI 96825, on April 11, 1960. He was a pioneer in nuclear medicine.
I suppose it's just a coincidence that his wife, Eleanor Nordyke, pops up and says she gave birth to on the same day in the same hospital, then the birth announcement shows the same street address as her husband's clinic? And the twins birth was never announced at all? A physician and his wife give birth to twins and there's no announcement?
Where is the birth announcement for the Nordyke twins, who both turned up in Obama's kindergarten class? Were their names eventually removed and another name substituted in the same space?

Great find. Since lots of things online are questionable, I did some research. I have an old 1997 phone book CD. Listed in the phone book at the 6085 Kananianaole Hwy address is a Sherry Paiva. In 1961 it was Orland Lefforge who was supposed to live there. It'd be nice to see if Sherry Paiva were a daughter of the Lefforges or if there was some other relationship.
In 1961 the next door neighbor was claimed to be Beatrice Arakaki. In my 1997 phone book it lists a "Chas S Arakaki" so it tells how the same family is still there.
So, your "Obamafile" source can't be shown to be wrong.
I decided to look for a place to find a 1961 phone book for Honolulu. I found a place that has other phone books and sent an enquiry about a 1961 one. That would help clear some things up.

While nearly 400,000 concerned citizens demand President Obama present his elusive "long-form" birth certificate, more than a dozen other documents remain unreleased or otherwise blocked from the public eye.
Numerous documents which have yet to be surrendered include the following.
Obama kindergarten records
The Maui News reported that Obama attended kindergarten at Noelani Elementary School on Oahu during the school year 1966-67. It released a photo of two teachers, Katherine Nakamoto and Aimee Yatsushiro, with five students. The teachers claim one of the children is Barack Obama.
According to the Hawaii Department of Education, students must submit a birth certificate to register . Parents may bring a passport or student visa if the child is from a foreign country.
So far, no records have been released by the school. Noelani Elementary School officials have not responded to WND's request for comment.
Punahou School records

Though from a modest background, Obama began attending the prestigious Punahou School in Honolulu , one of Hawaii's top private institutions. He reportedly received a scholarship and attended the school from the fifth grade until he finished high school, though no financial records have been released.
The Boston Globe reported, "In 1979, the year Obama graduated, tuition for high school students at Punahou was $1,990, a sizable expense compared with Hawaii's median family income of $22,750 that year.
Obama, reportedly a "B" student, studied among the island's richest and most accomplished students. According to the school's website, he also played forward on Punahou's 1979 state championship basketball team.
Occidental College records
Obama arrived at Occidental College , a small liberal arts school in Los Angeles, Calif., in the fall of 1979. He only briefly mentions the school in his 1995 memoir, "Dreams from My Father."
Obama attended the school on a scholarship. Some question whether the financial aid he received was reserved for foreign students. Financial records have not been released.
In a legal action, handled largely by Gary Kreep of the U.S. Justice Foundation , officials at Occidental College were served with a demand to produce records concerning Barack Obama's attendance there during the 1980s because they could document whether he was attending as a foreign national.

"The gravamen of the petition is the question as to whether United States Senator Barack Hussein Obama, of Illinois, is eligible to serve as president of the United States pursuant to the requirements for that office in the United States Constitution," he wrote. "The records sought may provide documentary evidence, and/or admissions by said defendant, as to said eligibility or lack thereof."
College officials then contacted Obama's lawyers, who argued to the court that the election was over and that future concerns should be addressed to Congress.
The motion stated that the records, which could reveal on what name Obama attended classes at Occidental and whether he attended on scholarship money intended for foreign students, "are of no relevance to this moot litigation."
The motion also claimed the petitioners failed to serve the subpoena properly. yedda.com/.../
