It's the Wizard of Oz all over again. "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain." Somewhere in the last few decades, sometime when we weren't paying attention, America was lost. Choice was lost. Step by step, election by election, vote by vote, Liberty was lost. We all started going home from elections thinking "I guess my vote just wasn't enough to make a difference this time" and "Maybe democracy is nothing more than bread and circuses after all."
We ought to make "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" a National Tea Party protest song.
I was 12 years old when I first heard this. Here I am 37 years later still listening. The sound of Harrison's guitar is in my permanent soul.
