Marines Call For Investigation Of MRAPs Delays

"Gayl's study, which reflected his own views, said cost was a driving factor in the decision to turn down a February 2005 "urgent" request from battlefield commanders for the so-called MRAPs."

Probe sought in Marine vehicle delays
By RICHARD LARDNER, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 51 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - The Marine Corps has asked the Pentagon's inspector general to examine allegations that a nearly two-year delay in the fielding of blast-resistant vehicles led to hundreds of combat casualties in Iraq.

The system for rapidly shipping needed gear to troops on the front lines has been examined by auditors before and continues to improve, Col. David Lapan, a Marine Corps spokesman, said Monday night. Due to the seriousness of the allegations, however, "the Marine Corps has taken the additional step" of requesting the IG investigation, Lapan said in an e-mailed statement.

A photo showing Barack Obama dressed in Somali garb is being circulated by campaign staffers working for Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, according to DrudgeReport.com.

The photo was taken in 2006 during a trip through Africa. Obama was dressed as a Somali elder during a visit to southwestern Kenya, said the Drudge Report, which said a Clinton staff member had provided the photo to the Web site.

According to Drudge, the unnamed campaign staffer said: “Wouldn’t we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC,” short-hand for the candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

With a week to go until the Texas and Ohio primaries, stressed Clinton staffers circulated a photo over the weekend of a "dressed" Barack Obama.

The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner fitted as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya.

The senator was on a five-country tour of Africa... For more of this article go to Drudgereport.com at:

But she will not run Indy. She has to know that if a

Besides, the Dems just got a spoiler today (Ralphie).

Will Hillary Make A Graceful Exit? Last Debate Her Swan Song?

The race is over. Hillary Clinton is over. Her electability is over.

All That's Left For Clinton Is A Graceful Exit

By LAWRENCE KUDLOW | Posted Thursday, February 21, 2008 4:30 PM PT
Excerpt from Investor's Business Daily at: http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=288483070282073

Allow me a dose of hardened market realism concerning Barack Obama's landslide victory in Wisconsin: The race is over. Hillary Clinton is over. Her electability is over. Bill Clinton's political invincibility is over. The Clinton Restoration is over.

It's over.

Obama got to the far left faster than Hillary did. He out-organized her, out-fundraised her, out-speechified her, out-hustled her, out-dressed her and out-presidentialed her. He outbid Hillary for votes, one promised government check at a time. His 17-point margin of victory in Wisconsin was incredible. It says he can't be stopped.

Outside of the wacko ultra-left Madison college population, which is even worse than the Ohio State population, Wisconsin is a lot like Ohio. And Ohio campuses will go for Obama.

Think faculty voters, grimly determined for a left-wing takeover of America "from the bottom up," to use the Saul Alinsky community-organizer phrase. As goes Wisconsin, so goes Ohio.

Not even Hillary's last-minute bashing of business, free trade and free-market capitalism — which was a complete repudiation of her husband's presidency — could save her. Obama got there first, with a style and elegance that Hillary simply couldn't match.

And it came out of nowhere. On the eve of the Wisconsin primary, Hillary did a hard-left imitation of John Edwards' populist and demagogic soak-the-rich rhetoric. She trashed some of the greatest businesses in America — oil, credit-card, insurance and pharmaceutical firms; Wall Street and lending firms.

It all must have come as quite a shock to the alumni of the Bill Clinton White House who are working for her campaign.

Robert Rubin may have been too busy tending to Citigroup's subprime collapse to keep Hillary on the reservation. But where were Wall Street's Roger Altman and Washington's Gene Sperling when Hillary discarded the pinstripes for the polyester lefty-union pantsuit?

Bashing business comes naturally to Obama. But for Hillary, it was a complete failure.

Will She Go Quietly?    Hell No!

Alert:Trailer and Explosives ("that could easily blow off body parts") stolen in Detroit

Trailer & $70,000 explosives stolen in Detroit

Excerpted from:http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/usnews

4 February 2008: A trailer containing about $70,000 worth of high-tech fireworks used during player introductions at Detroit Pistons basketball games was discovered stolen early Sunday morning in the Detroit suburb of Warren, Michigan. The still-missing trailer is described as a 20’ 2001 Haulmark brand tow-behind style trailer bearing Michigan plate A294612. It is silver on the back and sides, blue on the front with a diamond checkered plate.

The trailer was taken sometime Saturday from an industrial parking area located near Dequindre and 14 Mile Road in an industrial parking lot in Warren, north of the city of Detroit, Michigan. The trailer contained pyrotechnics called dragons, which shoot flames skyward and concussive explosions “that easily could blow off body parts,” and tanks of propane gas.

The trailer and its contents is owned by a company identified as Band-Ayd. Through its president Nino De Benedetti, Band Ayd is offering a $5,000 “no questions asked” reward for return of the trailer and its contents. Warren police are investigating the theft. Anyone with information is asked to contact Warren Police Detective Sgt. Dan Beck at 586-574-4776 .read more »

The Tamil Tigers Are Terrorist, One Worked In A US Airport.

"How this terror cell leader with a fake passport was able to work a security job at Newark [Liberty International Airport] and pass at least two FBI background checks, well, that's the larger issue, in my opinion." --Federal source

Warning: Still images at conclusion of article may be considered disturbing to some.

4 December 2007: If you were to ask the majority of people what a Tamil Tiger is, I suspect that most people would describe a predatory animal native to mainland Asia. Expanding on that answer, they might say that the only such animals in the U.S. are at the zoo or in circus acts, safely in cages and posing no threat to Americans at large.

The truth, however, is that Tamil Tigers is the common name for a terrorist organization founded in Sri Lanka in 1975 under the official name of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Although as a group their primarily concern are focused on national separatist issues in Sri Lanka, the terrorist group has cells in a number of countries throughout Europe, the UK and in the U.S. and Canada. Despite the firm denials by the Council on Foreign Relations that there is no operational or other relationship between the Tamil Tigers and Islamic terrorist organizations including but not limited to al Qaeda, research by the Northeast Intelligence Network suggests that conclusion is at least premature if not altogether inaccurate.

The Council on Foreign Relations does accurately acknowledge, however, that the Tamil Tigers perfected the suicide belt and homicide bombing tactics, using the same to kill former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991. Closer examination notes the similarities in the modus operandi between al Qaeda and the Tamil Tigers in other areas, including the Tigers' attack on Sri Lanka Navy ships and the Al Qaeda attack on the U.S. destroyer Cole that killed 17 American sailors. Obviously, al Qaeda and other Islamic terror groups have learned from LTTE operations and operatives, but the interfacing may not stop there.

An event that received only marginal media coverage
took place in October when authorities announced the July arrest of two men, both members of the Tamil Tigers, in New York for their plot to use stolen credit card numbers and other methods to steal $250,000 in New York and tens of millions from ATMs worldwide. They were part of a group of eight men, six who were previously arrested, reportedly led by Sivapalasri Velayuthampillai, 31, of Newark, New Jersey.

While their scheme of identity theft, identity fraud and plans to loot America is bad enough, authorities admitted that Velayuthampillai, the leader of the terrorist cell, worked three jobs at Newark Airport as a security agent and baggage handler with complete security clearance. He entered the U.S. with a fake passport in July 2001 and was granted political asylum five months later.

According to a federal source close to that investigation, authorities are currently looking at a possible connection between Velayuthampillai and at least one Islamic Imam living and working inside the U.S. with suspected ties to al Qaeda. There is a possible relationship being explored that would tie this [LTTE] cell with Islamic radicals who may have provided logistical support to this cell, including helping [Velayuthampillai into his position] at Newark, stated this source, speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of this matter. The investigation is far from being over. "How this terror cell leader with a fake passport was able to work a security job at Newark [Liberty International Airport] and pass at least two FBI background checks, well, that's the larger issue, in my opinion," added this source.

The Northeast Intelligence Network has learned that there is a growing concern among certain law enforcement officials that inside the U.S. and Canada, the lines between LTTE, a national separatist terror group, and Islamic terrorist organizations are becoming blurred despite the denials of terrorism analysts and experts within the intelligence community. “There is a tendency among intelligence officials to believe that because one group is secular and narrowly focused, and the other is motivated by religious ideology and destruction of the West, that there is no interaction [between the groups]. This type of in-the-box thinking is part of what brought us to 9/11 and other attacks.”

Meanwhile, in a graphic display of the methodology of using female homicide bombers, a security camera in Sri Lanka captured 24-year-old Sujatha Vagawanam, a Tamil Tiger, detonating a bomb vest during her mission to kill a Sri Lankan Cabinet minister. The video was released last week and shows Vagawanam, wearing a yellow sari and a white shawl, patiently sitting in a waiting room inside the Colombo offices of Social Services Minister Douglas Devananda last Wednesday.

The woman is seen speaking to a 72 year-old assistant identified as Steven Peiris. At one point, apparently believing she was drawing too much attention to herself and at the risk of getting caught, the 24 year-old Vagawanam is seen standing up, reaching for something under her shawl on her right shoulder and obviously detonating a bomb vest, killing herself and the government aid. Is Obama A Romantic Revolutionary The Likes Of Che and Fidel?

"Houston volunteer office is caught operating under a huge Castroite Flag with picture of Che Guevara on it."  (paraphrased quote from Investor's Business Daily)

Barack Guevara

Election 2008:
How is it a front-runner for the highest office in the land can reject an American flag on his lapel but permit the display of a huge Cuban flag at one of his offices, emblazoned with a mass murderer's mug?

Improbable as it sounds, it's true. Barack Obama, displaying the same "anything goes" standard of patriotism he showed when he ostentatiously refused to wear a U.S. flag in his lapel, now shows he's got a whole different idea about patriotism.

One of Obama's volunteer offices in Houston was caught operating under a huge flag of communist Cuba with Che Guevara's face printed on it, according to images shown on Fox News. Flak from bloggers ensued — followed, of course, by spin control.

But rather than repudiate the image, Obama would only call it "inappropriate," apparently without insisting it be taken down. That contrasts with his dismissal of his Senate colleagues who wear lapel flags as "hypocrites." Some hypocrites.

The display of the Castroite flag with Che's picture on it sends a particularly disturbing message about his campaign. Apparently, Obama tends to attract the kind of people who think of mass murderers like Che and Fidel as romantic revolutionaries. Those same people see Obama as a man with a messianic message. These are the voters he'll be indebted to should he win higher office.

Worse yet, it signals that a U.S. commander in chief tolerates supporters with loyalties to nations other than the U.S., including those loyal to enemy states that spy on and seek to harm the U.S.

It coincides uncomfortably with Obama's call for no-strings-attached diplomatic relations with communist Cuba. He's even offered to meet with the dictators of Cuba, sanctimoniously implying that other administrations had no good reason for not doing so.

Obama's naive idealism is based on a false understanding of history. Cuba is a nation that aimed Soviet missiles at us in 1962 and is likely to do the same if and when Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez gets advanced weapons from Russia or Iran. That's not all:

• Also in 1962, Cuba attempted to launch the first 9/11-style attack on New York's subways and department stores — with the mastermind behind that none other than Che Guevara himself.

Hillary's Big Lie During the January 31 Debate.

"We bombed them for days in 1998 because Saddam Hussein threw out inspectors."

News Release

Clinton's Big Lie from Last Night

February 1, 2008

NORMAN SOLOMON
Solomon, executive director of the Institute for Public Accuracy, is the author of War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death. He said today: "If facts matter, then it should matter that Hillary Clinton chose to rely on such a basic falsehood during the debate when she flatly stated: 'We bombed them for days in 1998 because Saddam Hussein threw out inspectors.' In fact, just prior to the Clinton administration's several days of bombing Iraq in December 1998, the U.N.'s UNSCOM weapons inspectors left Iraq when UNSCOM head Richard Butler withdrew them -- because the Clinton administration made it clear that the U.S. government was about to start bombing."

Solomon added: "That false statement by Hillary Clinton during the debate Thursday evening came as she was trying to verbally navigate what were her most difficult moments of the night: about her vote for the October 2002 congressional resolution that authorized an invasion of Iraq. At that point in the debate, she was arguing that she had made what she called a 'reasoned judgment' which assumed that Saddam Hussein had a record of blocking inspectors so they couldn't find his weapons of mass destruction. In the process, her extreme distortion of history -- asserting that the four-year absence of U.N. inspectors from Iraq was because Saddam 'threw out inspectors' in December 1998 -- goes to the core of her candor about the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq and her rationale for voting to authorize it.

"Any journalists interested in fact-checking Senator Clinton's claim that 'We bombed them for days in 1998 because Saddam Hussein threw out inspectors' would be well-advised to stick to relying on the original reportage of what occurred in December 1998. Since then, a self-referential myth has developed in retrospective news coverage of those events, with journalists and politicians alike frequently recycling the false assertion that the four-year absence of U.N. inspectors from Iraq began when Saddam kicked them out of the country."  Excerpted go to: http://www.accuracy.org/newsrelease.php?articleId=1641

STEPHEN ZUNES
Zunes has recently written a series of articles on the candidates and their foreign policy positions, including "The Foreign Policy Agenda of the Democratic Front-Runners: Comparisons on Some Key Issues." He said today: "Senator Clinton, in Thursday night's debate, claims that she voted to authorize war against Iraq because 'we needed to put inspectors in.' However, Saddam Hussein had by that time already agreed to a return of the weapons inspectors. Furthermore, Senator Clinton voted against the Levin amendment, which would have granted authority to invade Iraq if Saddam defied subsequent U.N. demands. Instead, Senator Clinton voted to give President Bush the authority to invade Iraq at the time and circumstances of his own choosing regardless of whether inspectors returned. Indeed, unfettered inspections had been going on in Iraq for months at the time the Bush administration launched the invasion that Senator Clinton had voted to authorize."

Zunes is Middle East editor for Foreign Policy in Focus, professor of politics at the University of San Francisco and the author of Tinderbox: U.S. Middle East Policy and the Roots of Terrorism.

Hillary's Stint Working at The Children's Defense Fund.

"Nonetheless, the study showed, the bill (the so-called welfare reform bill ) would move 2.6 million people, including 1.1 million children, into poverty." "... in 1996 when Clinton enthusiastically signed the so-called welfare reform bill of 1996. This, from a President whose wife served as Chair of the Children's Defense Fund.  "

Hillary Clinton & the Children's Defense Fund
by Peter Glen Shaw

Excerpted from:
http://www.peterglenshaw.com/peter_glenshaw_weblog/2008/01/hillary-clinton.html

While much of the rest of the political world was watching the pugilistic debate last night between the Democratic candidates in South Carolina, I had the good fortune to listen to a speech at Dartmouth last night by Marion Wright Edelman, the founder of the Children's Defense Fund and former BFF of Hillary Clinton.

The speech was familiar, for those who have heard Mrs. Edelman before: statistics galore about the impoverished state of children in America.  Even today, 35 years after the founding of CDF, which is dedicated to improving the lives of the most needy and least influential in America, its work remains unfinished.  It's a sad, familiar litany, one too easily dismissed by cynics.  Even in my brief campaign for county office and my time as chair of the Lyme school board, the broad truth of Edelman's statistics are undeniable: more children suffer in America today than most people realize, and the social and financial impact of their suffering is both enormous and revolting.

What's interesting about last night's South Carolina debate and the Edelman speech at Dartmouth is that Hillary Clinton dared to cite her service after college with the Children's Defense Fund as a bona fide to her commitment to change.

Last night, here is how she described her work with the Children's Defense Fund:

"Well, I respect John's commitment to ending poverty. That's why, 35 years ago, when I graduated from law school, I didn't go to work for a law firm. I went to work for Marian Wright Edelman at the Children's Defense Fund, because ending poverty – particularly ending poverty for children, has been the central core cause of everything that I've been doing for 35 years."

Interesting.  Very interesting.

Because if you push even just a little bit, the story of Hillary Clinton and the Children's Defense Fund is far murky than candidate Clinton would like anyone in 2008 to understand.

First, it's important to realize the Hillary Clinton was more involved with the Children's Defense Fund than just serving as a newly minted college graduate.  In fact, from 1986 to 1992, Hillary Clinton (as she was known then) was the Chair of the Children's Defense Fund.  During this very same period, she also served on the board of Wal-Mart.

Moreover, when the Clinton's entered the White House in 1992, an early political appointee of Bill Clinton's was Marion Wright Edelman's husband, Peter Edelman.  Another Clinton political appointee, Donna Shalala (who later become the cabinet Secretary for Health & Human Services), also served as Chair of the Children's Defense Fund from 1992-93.

You might think -- hey, the Children's Defense Fund ought to score, right?  Their former Chair is the First Lady.  Their next Chair is the head of Health & Human Services.  The husband of the founder of Children's Defense Fund is the Assistant Secretary of Health & Human Services.  That organization and more importantly children throughout the United States ought to benefit tremendously....right?

Wrong.

The sad truth is both simple and maddening.  For Hillary Clinton, then and now, the Children's Defense Fund was mere window-dressing, an adornment meant to convey support for change without really being prepared to make deep sacrifices for it.

The Clintons and Edelmans were incredibly close, both personally and politically, during Clinton's first term, but it all came to end in 1996 when Clinton enthusiastically signed the so-called welfare reform bill of 1996.  In anger and shock over President Clinton's actions, Peter Edelman resigned his HHS post.

In an article published shortly thereafter in the Atlantic Monthly, Edleman provided detail after detail about why this bill was a mistake.  One sentence in particular haunts me from this essay published more than ten years ago:  "Nonetheless, the study showed, the bill would move 2.6 million people, including 1.1 million children, into poverty."

This, from a President whose wife served as Chair of the Children's Defense Fund.

The sad fact is, Edelman was right.
I was initially sympathetic to Clinton's bill (work is good, right?), but a careful review suggests that Bill Clinton's welfare reform bill has been a disaster. One quick confirmation comes from reading Ross Gitell's 2007 study for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Among other salient facts, the report says that over the last fifteen years (1989-2004), the bottom 40% of income earners in New England over the last fifteen years actually LOST money in terms of income.  At the same time, the top 20% of income earners gained 20% or more in terms of income.

So thanks to a myriad of factors
-- not the least of which was the removal of a social safety net as a result of the welfare reform bill -- the poor got poorer and the rich got richer.  And the children suffered most of all.  According to the Columbia University National Center for Children in Poverty, the number of children living in poverty grew by 1.2M from 2000 to 2006.  Put more starkly, "Nearly 13 million American children live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level, which is $20,650 a year for a family of four."

I don't know about you, but $20.6K per year for a family of four is way, WAY, WAY below what ANY family should endure.

But that's what the welfare reform bill brought us, and that's part of the legacy of both Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton.   For more of this excerpted article go to: http://www.peterglenshaw.com/peter_glenshaw_weblog/2008/01/hillary-clinton.html

"I Will Not Vote For Hillary As President" One Woman's View

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Why I will NOT vote for Hillary as president  Excerpted from  Conservative Beach Girl's Blog at:

http://politicalbeachgirl.blogspot.com/2006/09/why-i-will-not-vote-for-hillary-as.html

I cannot vote for Hillary for president for a kazillion political reasons but the basic reason I cannot vote for her is because I am a woman and, as a woman, I want women in leadership roles that stand for integrity. To me, one aspect of that integrity is protecting one's daughters above all personal costs. To me, Hillary just doesn't make the grade.

Numerous books have been written about Hillary Clinton and of course who could forget the claims of her husband in 1992 that "you'll get two for the price of one." And boy howdy, we did. Whoops, the truth from the dynamic duo...

But we got more than two. We got the "mysterious" death of Vince Foster in Fort Marcy Park. Only thing that would have made it better is if there had been a "magic" bullet. And where exactly did all that blood go from his wound? But I don't want to rehash the absurdities that came upon us month after month including the Senate Hearings and the notorious repetitions of "I don't recall."

Now, really! Do you think we can afford to put a woman, or a man for that matter, who "can't recall" as often as Hillary and her staff couldn't recall into the White House as president? And will we once again "get two for the price of one"?

But my vote against Hillary is more basic or fundamental than that. To me, she violated her trust with her daughter and by extension with all women. Her husband by all accounts was a philanderer. After his deception with interns became common knowledge and our children learned what was and what wasn't "sexual relations" on the nightly news, Hillary "stood" by her man. Not buying that!

She stood by her chances at political success. She sold women out - in all walks of life, rich or poor. She sold us all out for chances of political success. Her actions said: take the abuse, the humiliation, the ridicule. And my daughter will take it too...

How can women even entertain the idea of Hillary as president of The United States of America? She sold out the feminists by proving that the only way to ultimate power for a woman was by being married to a powerful man no matter what his treatment of women. Can you recall an affair with an intern a few years older than his own daughter in OUR White House?
Would you tell your daughter to remain married to such a man, to endure such abuse?

What would Hillary's life be like had she divorced "her" man? Would she be a Senator? Difficult to say! She'd be close to one million dollars richer not having to pay to settle his suit with Paula Jones, as I recall.

If she's a good junior senator from New York, good for New Yorkers. But for myself, I cannot vote for Hillary. Setting all of the differences between her Marxist views and my Constitutional-adherence views, I can't vote for her because she betrayed women once. I can't vote for her and give her the chance to do that again on much more grave issues. Besides, I don't want her husband back in the White House. Not ever! The "world" may hate us with President Bush, but we'd be the laughing stock of the world if Hillary were our president. I'll take their hate anyday over their ridicule and loathing because our president would be a woman with so little demonstrated respect for herself let alone her daughter.

So no, Hillary won't get my vote. If you choose, you could read the Washington Times article (9/25/2006), Producer accuses Clintons of 'looting'. According to the article, "Mrs. Clinton remains as a material witness and co-conspirator in the suit, and Judge Munoz has said she cannot avoid testifying." Is she qualified to be president? I guess you'll decide but I vote NO.

One big reason Senators seldom win the Presidency and Govenors do is the fact Governors have more overall management experience and carry less baggage. They have already worked "top-down."

Some people feel being First Lady is a qualification. I would like that explained to me.

Speaking of baggage, Hillary has a truck load and this will keep her from "winning" the White House.

Sidenote: Anyone with a record of anti-Military has no business as Commander in Chief.

Hillary stayed with a man that you wouldn't buy a used car from. Dress him up in a plaid suit and you get the picture. He said, "Put ice on it." I say, "Put her campaign on ice." Tell me, does she get to keep and spend her campaign contributions on whatever she likes if she doesn't run?

By Doug Hagmann Saturday, December 15, 2007

On December 4, 2007, we reported that members of the terrorist organization Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), more commonly known as the Tamil Tigers, were arrested in New York for their plot to use stolen credit card numbers and other methods to steal $250,000 in New York "and tens of millions from ATMs worldwide."

One of the men arrested worked three jobs at Newark Airport as a security agent and baggage handler with complete security clearance. The Tamil Tigers are well known for their use and "perfection" of terrorists' "suicide belts" and vests, and the use of females as suicide bombers as illustrated in our
report published earlier this month.

Further investigation conducted by this investigator of Tamil Tiger activity in the U.S. confirmed
published reports that at least one well-known supporter of that terrorist organization, 56 year-old New Jersey resident Ramanathan RANJAN is actively soliciting funds for New York Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.

RANJAN, of New Brunswick, NJ was identified as an approved recipient for funds solicited by Pat PATHMAKUMAR through her e-mail campaign containing "Tamils for Clinton" in the subject line. A fund raising event this week in New Jersey at The State Theater in New Brunswick, advertised on
Clinton's web site, offered potential donors tickets ranging from $100 - $2,300, depending upon seat selection. Although the referral list has been removed from the site, the Northeast Intelligence Network was able to secure a list of referrals that included the names of both RANJAN and PATHMAKUMAR.

Notably, RANJAN was an organizer of "LTTE Heroes Day," an event that praised and eulogized LTTE terrorists and homicide bombers on December 2, 2006. That event was held in the auditorium at the south Brunswick Middle School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. According to reports of the event, the terror group's flag was raised as those in attendance sang the LTTE anthem.

RANJAN is noted to be the state coordinator of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), identified by the US State Department as a front organization of the LTTE. "  (For more reading go to: http://nypdrant64609.yuku.com/topic/7100 )

LTTE Heavily Involved In Fund Raising For Hilary Clinton In New Jersey

Excerpted from: http://nypdrant64609.yuku.com/topic/7100

(By Walter Jayawardhana)

Well known activists of a banned terrorist group in the United States are involved in the fund raising activities of the US Democratic candidate Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton.

According to a fundraising web site for the Senator, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) activists are involved in raising funds from 100 Dollars to 2300 Dollars to help elect Senator Clinton as the next United States President. The website could be reached at:

https://contribute.hillaryclinton.com/events/nj1212.html

New Jersey residents have expressed the fear, that LTTE or the Tamil Tigers could flush supporters with millions of dollars, to buy influence over the next possible President of the United States of America by infiltrating into democratic fund raising machine.

An email distributed by a female activist, Pat Pathmakumar for the group under the name "Tamils for Clinton" has appealed to contribute for the Clinton fund by sending checks to her or a man named Ram Ranjan, a man who organized the LTTE Heroes day meeting in New Jersey last year. Ranjan has publicly admitted he raised funds for LTTE front, the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO).

The terrorist group, that introduced innovative methods like suicide jackets to many terrorist groups in the world, is listed as a foreign terrorist group by the State Department and the US Federal police , the FBI has alleged that the group had offered to them millions of dollars as bribes to lift the ban. The group is alleged to be using bribes to buy influence in India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The money is being earned mostly by fraudulent business, credit card scams, drug running, voluntary fund raising and extortions of the Tamil Diaspora, according to a recent report of the Jane's Defense weekly.

According to the Clinton website, a leading LTTE activist, who came to live in New Jersey in 1994, called Ram Ranjan is one of the fund raisers of the Clinton campaign. Several others who are connected with him are also listed among the fund raisers.

Ram Ranjan has earlier admitted that he had raised funds for the Tamil Tigers front organization called Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) which had raised funds purportedly for humanitarian purposes but actually diverted those funds for terrorist activities from many countries in the world.

A year ago he told a New Jersey newspaper called Star Ledger that although he supported the TRO; it is not connected with the terrorist group LTTE.

The Star Ledger reported, "... ......... he serves as state coordinator of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization, which raises money for medical services, schools and orphanages and the victims of the LTTE, not the LTTE, Ranjan said."

The US State Department has identified the TRO as a front organization of the LTTE and it is banned in many countries in the world.

The Star Ledger newspaper interviewed Ranjan an year ago after he was involved in organizing a LTTE hero's day commemorating meeting with accepted leaders of the LTTE in the US as speakers, local residents said. Pro LTTE website the Tamil Net said that the function started by hoisting LTTE separatist flag. The meeting was organized by a front organization of the LTTE, the South Asian Community Association.

Sri Lankan Tamil group held the memorial meeting to eulogize dead Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) fighters including suicide bombers as heroes but told the New Jersey newspaper "Star-Ledger" they did not have any connections with a terrorist group.

The group South Asian Community Association or SACA with Ranjan as an organizer caught attention after it rented an auditorium of the south Brunswick middle School in New Jersey, USA for a memorial to eulogize the dead LTTE fighters including those suicide bombers who targeted unarmed civilians and raised the flag of the LTTE and sang the anthem of the group on December 02 2006.

The meeting was addressed by known leaders of the LTTE in the United States, Visuvanadan Rudrakumaran and Dr. Naglingam Jeyalingam.

The Star-Ledger newspaper of New Jersey who published two consecutive news articles about the group who rented the Brunswick school reported that, " South Brunswick police officials said last week investigators were looking into allegations that the Princeton Junction-based South Asian Community Association is linked to the Liberation.
Tigers of Tamil Eelam, which is designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department." (Excerpt)

A Vote For Romney by Kathryn Jean Lopez Editor at NRO

"But I would rather stand on principle than settle today. That’s why Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin and Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham and all the rest are standing where they are today. And I don’t think that constitutes “derangement.” I think that’s good citizenship. I think that’s how you keep ideas central, and keep ideas politically viable — whether you win or lose a given race."

Is This Derangement?

Why I voted for Mitt Romney.

By Kathryn Jean Lopez at: NRO at: http://article.nationalreview.com/print/?q=ZmM3MTE0NzhiMzdhNTM1MTM1OWE0YzAxMjAzODZhZjQ=

Breaking news: I cast my vote for Mitt Romney this morning in the Empire State. (Something that won’t surprise anyone who reads NRO’s “The Corner.” While I’ve flirted with Thompson, McCain, and even Giuliani along the way, I’ve long leaned Romney — having first been impressed with him when he was governor of Massachusetts, battling cloning and showing competency, intelligence, and conservatism.)

I often give talks to high-school groups about conservatism. I tell them conservatism is a temperament. It’s a philosophy. It’s a movement. But at its heart, it’s a temperament.

Today on Super Tuesday, this primary season isn’t over on either side. So I voted for the candidate with the most conservative temperament. Is he perfect? Who is? Is his record perfect? Whose is? But on a slew of issues Mitt Romney’s record and talk reflects a conservatism about him. And this is not a wholly new place for him to be. As NR pointed out in our endorsement of him in December, Romney didn’t do a 180 on every policy issue to become a conservative yesterday, or a year ago when he decided to run for president:

Some conservatives question his sincerity. It is true that he has reversed some of his positions. But we should be careful not to overstate how much he has changed. In 1994, when he tried to unseat Ted Kennedy, he ran against higher taxes and government-run health care, and for school choice, a balanced budget amendment, welfare reform, and “tougher measures to stop illegal immigration.” He was no Rockefeller Republican even then.

We believe that Romney is a natural ally of social conservatives. He speaks often about the toll of fatherlessness in this country. He may not have thought deeply about the political dimensions of social issues until, as governor, he was confronted with the cutting edge of social liberalism. No other Republican governor had to deal with both human cloning and court-imposed same-sex marriage. He was on the right side of both issues, and those battles seem to have made him see the stakes of a broad range of public-policy issues more clearly. He will work to put abortion on a path to extinction. Whatever the process by which he got to where he is on marriage, judges, and life, we’re glad he is now on our side — and we trust him to stay there.

I don’t understand the tendency among some of my conservative friends to “settle” early on. I think that this instinct — to first dream of Ronald Reagan’s reincarnation and then to immediately transition into settling, casting aside a viable conservative option — misses the point of primaries. Senator McCain has served our nation valiantly, both on the battlefield and off. But he’s also sponsored and led on legislation that calls into question his conservative temperament. Some conservatives suffering from Bush fatigue may think that it is wise to settle early — that they’d rather not be disappointed again — they’d rather know early on, say, that amnesty will be par for the course, and at least now they’re prepared.

But I would rather stand on principle than settle today. That’s why Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin and Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham and all the rest are standing where they are today. And I don’t think that constitutes “derangement.” I think that’s good citizenship. I think that’s how you keep ideas central, and keep ideas politically viable — whether you win or lose a given race. Rush Limbaugh Endorses Romney Today.

RUSH: "I think now, based on the way the campaign has shaken out, that there probably is a candidate on our side who does embody all three legs of the conservative stool, and that’s Romney. The three stools or the three legs of the stool are national security/foreign policy, the social conservatives, and the fiscal conservatives. The social conservatives are the cultural people. The fiscal conservatives are the economic crowd: low taxes, smaller government, get out of the way. " For more go to: Tuesday's Audio Page:

In West Virginia at McCain's behest, "a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain"

"Before Huckabee’s surprising turnaround in the second round, McCain delegates told FOX News they had been instructed by the campaign to throw their support to Huckabee.

McCain delegate John Vuolo said former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer approached him and other McCain supporters at the convention and told them he had spoken to McCain, and that the best thing to do was to support Huckabee in the hope that Huckabee could beat Romney in this winner-take-all state.

That account could add fuel to Romney’s claim that Huckabee is only undercutting his support base, and that a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. Huckabee has fiercely denied that claim.

Romney Campaign Manager Beth Myers issued a statement after the West Virginia vote blasting McCain.

“Unfortunately, this is what Senator McCain’s inside Washington ways look like: he cut a backroom deal with the tax-and-spend candidate he thought could best stop Governor Romney’s campaign of conservative change.”

Huckabee Wins West Virginia GOP Contest in Second Round, With Help From McCain by FOXNews.com Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at:

"Huckabee came in second to Mitt Romney in the first round of voting, finishing with 33% to Romney's 41%, the AP reported earlier. John McCain, finishing third with 15%, survived to the second round, while Ron Paul finished fourth, at 10%, and was eliminated. "

"Amid rumors of a deal between backers of Huckabee and McCain, Huckabee secured 52% of the delegates in the second round, to Romney's 47%. McCain's goal in throwing support to Huckabee is designed to deprive Romney of a win early in the day. Huckabee will win all 18 of the state's pledged delegates. Nine of the state's remaining 12 delegates will be awarded during a May 13 primary."
